Tether has joined forces with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to combat cybercrime in Africa, targeting the surge in digital fraud as cryptocurrency adoption grows. The initiative will focus on education and protective measures, addressing threats posed by scams and high-tech crime syndicates exploiting mobile payment solutions and blockchain platforms.

The collaboration aligns with UNODC's 2030 Strategic Vision for Africa, emphasizing peace, economic inclusion, and sustainability for vulnerable groups. Tether's technological expertise will support cybersecurity education and efforts to crack down on crypto-related scams, according to a statement by WuBlockchain.

Capacity building for law enforcement is a key pillar of the partnership, aiming to bolster regional defenses against financial crimes in the digital asset space.
